Dough Gym at Station View
Pre-School enjoyed making their own playdough to use when taking part in our dough gym. Dough gym is a very good physical activity to do to strengthen finger, wrist, arm and shoulder muscles, all of which are important muscles that are needed as we develop and learn to write. as playdough is so easy and quick to make we thought we would share this with you.
2 cups of plain flour
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
½ cup of salt
2 sachets or tablespoons of cream of tarter
1 cup of boiling water
- Pour the flour, salt, cream of tarter and vegetable oil in a bowl
- Add the food colouring to desired colour
- Add the water gradually, stirring as you do this (adult only as water is hot)
- Mix all the ingredients together and when cool knead with hands until you form a firm ball, adding more water or flour if needed.
Congratulations you have just made your first batch of playdough, enjoy and have fun.
